To create its product portfolio, Open Travel Software has had to chart new ground.

We think that we have figured out how to routinely bring innovation into business critical applications. Some of our Open Travel Software developed innovations include:

Translation engine: We developed a translation methodology and process that allows us to include new language sets within our applications in a matter of weeks, not months (or years)

Proposal template engine: In order to ensure that proposals were quickly generated, matched and responded to, Open Travel Software had to develop an entirely new methodology for content management.

Development framework/application modularization: We understand the similarities and the differences between our sectors and have created both a methodology and the code to facilitate the development and implementation of complex applications to support our chosen markets.

Synchronization API: An API for complex, dispersed databases within the Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP environment. Candidly, one of the coolest things that we have done. We have built on our own JSON-like API to synchronize reservation bookings between our hotel/car rental management systems and our on-line reservation system. Highly, highly efficient, our process has solved the issue of message transfer between two complex databases.

Open Travel Software uses the Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP (LAMP) stack as its technical framework. This is the required operating environment for all of our applications.

Open Travel Software supports the development of standards-based solutions for the travel industry and is a coporate member of the OpenTravel (TM) Alliance, and OASIS. The Open Travel Alliance has one team member serving on the Open Travel Alliance's architecture commitee.

We maintain and distribute our open source projects' base source code through SourceForge

We use PayPal as our integrated credit card processing solution.

We incorporate YouTube videos into our on-line reservation system.
